Medical University of Lodz

The 29th of March 2022 saw the grand opening of a Clinical Trials Support Centre with an Early Phase Clinical Trials Centre at the Medical University of Lodz, whose purpose is to carry out early phase trials and ensure their quality and safety. The CTSC follows a joint service model, assisting clinical hospitals in acquiring trials, performing preliminary feasibility studies, maintaining contact with sponsors and coordinating the research process. The project involved adaptation works for a centralised clinical trial infrastructure, implementation of IT solutions and standard operating procedures supporting trial implementation and management for the functions of Sponsor/ARO, SMO/Site and Early Phase Trials Centre, and systematisation of the organisational structure of the Centre.

  • Three well equipped, highly specialised hospitals exhibit excellent technical potential: Central Teaching Hospital of the Medical University of Lodz, Norbert Barlicki Memorial Teaching Hospital No. 1 of the Medical University of Lodz, and Military Medical Academy Memorial Teaching Hospital of the Medical University of Lodz – Central Veteran Hospital.
  • The university offers access to unrivalled laboratories, among them: Central Cancer Laboratory "Oncolab im. WOŚP", Department of Clinical Genetics, Virology Laboratory, and Healthy Ageing Research Centre (HARC).
